One of the most frustrating things for me about being a mom is how often my preschooler, K, gets sick. I swear he wakes up coughing or with a runny nose every single week. It’s kind of just becoming normal at this point. I don’t know if it’s because he goes to preschool and there a million germs there or maybe because he’s currently in a phase where he wants to lick everything. Or who knows, maybe it’s because when he’s not feeling great, he gets to just relax and hang out in mom’s bed reading books and watching movies. What can I say, I’m a sucker? The worst thing about cold season is the coughing all night long. Not only does it keep him up but it keeps me up because I still use a video monitor to make sure he doesn’t need me in the middle of the night. And somehow no matter how deep I’m sleeping, I hear every sound he makes. We use our humidifier along with these other tips to stay healthy during the winter cold and flu season.

Funny Get Well Soon Gifts
Pretty sure we’re not the only ones who have colds and coughs regularly. We’ve had playdates and parties canceled in just the last week because people came down with the flu and no one wants to spread germs. Totally appreciate it, but it’s still a bummer. So K and I, we decided it’d be fun to make gift baskets for friends who are sick. And out of the blue gift boxes for friends who aren’t. Honestly, he’s been kind of obsessed with gift baskets ever since we did the Halloween boo buckets for his preschool friends and who am I to complain about him wanting to do nice things for others? Since most of our friends already have a Vicks humidifier, we made these get well soon gifts with the Vicks menthol and Sleepytime VapoPads® (to use with their humidifiers) and other things to make our friends feel better. And of course, I made free printable gift tags to go along with them. There are eight total tags inspired by some of our favorite Christmas songs, and I still don’t know which one is my favorite. See if you can guess the song the tags are inspired from. I think the trickiest one is probably the We Believe tag, but I’ll give you a hint on that one – it’s a song about grandma!
